The North Nagpur area is a slum-dominated area and is inhabited mostly by people below poverty line and those belonging to backward communities. The absence of a good medical care facility, particularly for the slum areas around Chalks Colony, is quite pinching. The needy patients had to run to the distant Government hospitals for all of their healthcare treatments.

Private hospitals were ruled out for these people due to costly treatments. With these limitations in mind Yugantar Education Society, via Smt Nimbunabai Tirpude Hospital and Research Centre envisioned medical camps which used the facilities at the hospital to render medical services for free to the residents of North Nagpur, as part of their medical camps thereby providing relief to them from costly treatments. Mrs Vanita Tirpude facilitated these medical camps to be organised within the local communities; whereby taking the healthcare services to the doorstep of the needy.
